Qur'an Conjecture

The Qur’an (33:59) says: “O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.”

The writer see's no violence being demanded by this passage.

For Muslim's the implication here is that if women do not cover themselves adequately with their outer garments, they may be abused, and that such abuse would be justified.

An Egyptian lawyer Nabih Wahsh has this to say about women dressing otherwise:

“Are you happy when you see a girl walking down the street with half of her behind showing?”

“I say that when a girl walks about like that, it is a patriotic duty to sexually harass her and a national duty to rape her.”

“Egypt will remain a civil state with a religious source of authority, whether the officials and the rulers like it or not.”

In a nutshell

These shocking words come from an educated lawyer who knows Sharia law and knows Sharia protects rapists from conviction. Especially if the victim is a kafir or unchaperoned Muslim woman in Western clothing.

If the educated Muslims (lawyers) think like this, how much worse, more savage, will the uneducated ones be?
