Many witnessed what was thought to be a UFO over Phoenix Monday night around 7pm December 22nd, 2017.
One eyewitness, Steve, stated he saw the event at the intersection of Thomas and Scottsdale Rd. He got out to take pictures and noticed many other onlookers doing the same.
Turns out SpaceX, a private space-exploration company owned by Elon Musk, reported that it had launched a rocket carrying satellites from Southern California that evening. The Falcon 9 booster rocket, which carried 10 satellites, launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base around 5:30 p.m. California time en route to destinations across the globe.

Below a picture taken by Steve of the SpaceX rocket.
Seems innocent enough. Everyone got an incredible light show just before Christmas.
However Steve has additional information. He claims there was a larger ship with many lights in a horizontal pattern that came up on the SpaceX rocket, maneuvered around and then took off straight up extremely fast and disappeared.

In this picture above there is clearly a horizontal row of lights above the rocket as seen from street level looking West.
Steve claimed the UFO followed the rocket to the left of the frame before it took off.

In this photo above the UFO clearly has maneuvered itself to the left (South) of the rocket. Same intersection, same standing position, just a few seconds later.
Comparing both images the rocket was moving slower than the UFO. The UFO covered a great distance in just a few short seconds to get to this position.
The rocket was out of SoCal headed South.
Where was the UFO in relation to the rocket?
Was the UFO in the vicinity of the rocket?
Was this just a coincidence that a UFO was caught on camera in the Phoenix area just as the rocket was flying by?
Is the UFO in Phoenix with the rocket in the background?
This event on the heels' of a recent Monday December 18th sighting with two eyewitness pictures. Read the story here.
Remembering the 1997 Phoenix, AZ UFO sighting dubbed Phoenix Lights. Kurt Russell, during an interview on the BBC, said he was flying his private plane into Phoenix on March 13, 1997, when he spotted the event. Russell, a licensed pilot, reported the lights to the control tower at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Story here.

This photo above of the Phoenix Lights event in 1997 does somewhat resemble the lights shown in the frames taken by Steve some 20 years later.
It's interesting to me that there are no other reported witnesses (as of yet) of the horizontal lights and their movements as caught on camera by Steve.
Makes one sit back and wonder.
